The Wang Pavilion is a state-of-the-art music performance venue in Columbia University’s Lerner Hall that seats 180. It was developed by repurposing a double height space formerly used for parties and lectures, and includes a separate, upper level lounge which can be used as a reception space.

Studio T+L collaborated with Jack L. Gordon Architects and Columbia University’s music faculty to develop this space for several uses: rehearsal space for music students and music clubs; student and music club performances; guest performers. The stage is wrapped in geometrically textured panels that aid in sound dispersion. Overhead, a custom truss system supports stage lighting, speakers, and a video projector. In the house, white architectural lighting is supplemented with RGB LED accent lighting that is connected to the stage lighting system.

Studio T+L designed the stage lighting, rigging, and architectural lighting systems for this unique venue.
